Phenoxymethylpenicillin Potassium Soluble Powder

Phenoxymethylpenicillin Potassium Soluble Powder

Pharmacodynamics: Phenoxymethylpenicillin is a narrow-spectrum penicillin that mainly has antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria. Like other penicillins, it exerts its antibacterial action during the bacterial proliferation phase. Phenoxymethylpenicillin can form irreversible penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) with proteases, thereby preventing these proteases from forming peptide glycan chain cross-links in the promotion of bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to abnormal cell growth and cell lysis, thus exerting its antibacterial effect.

【Pharmacological Action】

Pharmacokinetics: After single-dose gavage administration of phenoxymethylpenicillin at 20mg/kg b.w in chickens, phenoxymethylpenicillin can be rapidly absorbed by the body. The time to peak concentration (Tmax) is 2.04±0.45h, the peak concentration (Cmax) is 727.21±99.58mg/mL, the elimination half-life (T1/2β) is 2.62±0.36h, and the area under the drug-time curve (AUC0-t) is 2923.44±430.58h.ng/ml. The absolute bioavailability is 60.4%. Phenoxymethylpenicillin is well-distributed in most tissues and has higher concentrations in the kidneys and liver. It is partially decomposed in the gastrointestinal tract, with a small amount metabolized in the body, and most of it is excreted in the urine and feces in its original form.

【Indications】

A β-lactam antibiotic, belonging to the penicillin class. It is mainly used to treat necrotic enteritis in chickens caused by Clostridium perfringens.
